Virtual Private Networking (VPN) software creates an encrypted connection between your off-campus computer/device and Penn’s network. Penn State Health supports the use of the Google Chrome browser; Google, however, has deprecated the control used to check if you have a Citrix Receiver Client installed. The first time a user attempts to connect using the Chrome browser they will need to configure the site as not to be prompted to reinstall the client at each login. The OPP VPN (Virtual Private Network) is a method to connect to file folders and certain systems within OPP when you are not at work. This can be set up on laptops, etc., for use at home or on campus where the OPP network is not available.
